Music Festivals

There are 2 music festivals students of all ages & levels can participate in:

1. November: Contemporary Showcase Edmonton

The first one is Contemporary Showcase Edmonton.
Students play 1 or 2 pieces written by a CANADIAN composer.

Students may also play duets, trios or quartets.

All levels & ages are welcome to participate – even beginners!

This is a non-competitive festival but there are opportunities for scholarship prizes for outstanding performances.

Students will receive generous adjudication time (like having a mini 5 min lesson), a comment sheet to take home & a certificate.
No marks are given.

The festival is located in Alberta College (MacEwan University), downtown Edmonton.

Classes are scheduled on the weekend only. Friday evening, Saturday or Sunday.

2. April: St. Albert Rotary Music Festival 

Students play 1 piece in any style & by any composer.

Students may also perform duets, trios, quartets or participate in a family music class.

This is a non-competitive festival but there are opportunities for scholarship prizes for outstanding performances.

Marks & gold/silver/bronze standings are given for all classes
except 1 year beginner classes.

The festival location various churches in St. Albert

Most classes are scheduled weekday mornings or afternoons (yes, during school). Beginner classes are Saturday. Family music & adult class is Wednesday evening.
